what we collect
- your email address, to sign you in.
- your username.
- your school, if you verify one, and a hash of your school email address, never the address itself.
- your scores and game logs: the keys of every game and when each was typed, for replays and the checks that keep the boards fair.
- network (ip) addresses, for rate limits, and the network address and browser of each sign-in.
- your age (16 or older, or under 16), and the country your network address was in when you gave it.
what we may sell or share
we may sell or share a signed-up player's email address, username, school, best score, daily streak, number of games, and the day they joined with recruiters and partner firms. we never sell or share game logs, network addresses, or school email hashes.
who is never sold
- guests, who play without an account.
- players under 16, and players who haven't told us their age.
- players who signed up from the eu, the eea, the uk, or switzerland, or from a country we don't know.
- anyone who opted out.
how to opt out
follow "do not sell or share my personal information" at the bottom of any page to your privacy choices, or turn off "sell or share my info" in settings. it takes one click, and on your account it lasts until you change it.
if you opt out while signed out, your browser remembers it for 400 days, or until its cookies are cleared, and any account you sign in to on it is opted out too. if your browser sends global privacy control, your account is opted out automatically, for good.
